Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1997, Rita has specialised in family law and her works includes prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, separation, divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships and all matters pertaining to children( including adoption).

Her strength is dealing with financial issues arising out of the breakdown of a marriage or of a relationship. She will quickly determine the issues involved and approach each case with a determination to do the best for her client. She will tenaciously search for undisclosed or hidden assets. Rita uses her wealth of experience and tactical knowledge to achieve the best settlement she can. Her particular interest is complex cases involving businesses, property portfolios, pensions and other large assets with high values,; however, she happily applies the same approach whatever the nature or value of assets involved.

In matters involving children, often linked to her financial work, she provides clear and sensible advice, using her experience to resolve disputes practically and in the best interests of the children involved.

Rita has a friendly approach and provides advice that is easy to understand at, what for most people, is an emotional and distressing time. She tries to deal with all matters in a non-confrontational way to achieve an amicable settlement, although if this is not possible she will not hesitate to pursue the matter through court.

Rita is a member of Resolution, an organisation which aims to resolve matters by conciliation. Until quite recently she was also a trustee for the Leicestershire Citizens Advice which helps people to resolve legal, financial and other issues by providing free, independent and confidential advice.

In her spare time, Rita enjoys spending time with her husband and two grown-up daughters, particularly cycling. She also enjoys reading and cooking.
